77th Annual Academy Awards
February 27, 2005

The Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles

Your Host: Chris Rock
Televised (with a 5-second delay) over ABC

Opening Sequence: Dustin Hoffman narrates a three-minute-and-twelve-second montage of memorable movie moments, edited by Chuck Workman, that starts with The Kiss and progresses to the present day. This evening will be about "the past and the future and how they come together in so many remarkable ways."

Tonight's montages and tributes will be projected on a large on-stage screen and a 26-screen system that thrusts over the audience from above the proscenium.
