| OPENING SEQUENCE (1:28, cgi): We see a delivery truck moving through the desert toward Hollywood. As it enters the city, it encounters characters and creatures from several motion pictures (e.g., BACK TO THE FUTURE, EASY RIDER, TRANSFORMERS, KING KONG, HULK, NORTH BY NORTHWEST, BLADE RUNNER, LORD OF THE RINGS, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, ALIEN, STAR WARS, GLADIATOR, DOG DAY AFTERNOON, HARRY POTTER, PREDATOR, MARY POPPINS, GREASE, DANCES WITH WOLVES, SHREK, THE STING, NETWORK, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, BEVERLY HILLS COP, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, et al.). The truck pulls up to the Kodak Theatre, and we see that the driver is Arnold Schwarzenegger. He opens the cargo door of the truck (California license "HLLWD-1"), and we discover that he is delivering the Oscar® statuettes for tonight's ceremonies. | |
