| Romeo & Juliet was nominated for Best Picture in 1936 and 1968, and the musical adaptation West Side Story won the Award in 1961.
Film versions of A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935), Henry V (1946), and Julius Caesar (1953) were nominated, and Olivier's 1948 film of Hamlet won; but R&J is the only play to have multiple versions nominated. |
