In Old Arizona

US (1929): Western

Raoul Walsh and Irving Cummings direct this landmark early Western based on an O. Henry short story that features Academy Award-winner Warner Baxter as the Cisco Kid, a Mexican outlaw known as the "Robin Hood of the Old West." Aside from his well-intentioned banditry, the Kid duels it out in a friendly rivalry with lawman Mickey Dunne (Edmund Lowe) to win the heart of the beautiful Tonia Maria (Dorothy Burgess). But when Tonia betrays the Kid and tries to set him up for a fall, he manages to stay one step ahead of both her and the law. (amctv.com)

Walsh lost an eye during the filming of this first outdoor talkie; Cummings replaced him and received the Oscar® nomination.
