Married coaches Slug and Bessie Winters (Jack Haley and Patsy Kelly) find hillbilly football tosser Amos Dodd (Stu Erwin), and the team gets invited to the Yale Bowl. This was Judy Garland's first feature film. Songs by Sidney D. Mitchell and Lew Pollack include "You Do the Darndest Things," "It's Love I'm After," and "Down With Everything" (this sung by Alan Ladd in one of his first roles). Betty Grable is also featured.
