The Big Broadcast of 1938

US (1938): Comedy/Musical

The last of the "Big Broadcast" vaudeville extravaganzas highlights Bob Hope's first feature appearance, singing his signature, Oscar®-winning song, "Thanks for the Memory" and W.C. Fields fumbling through a nonsensical farce about twin brothers racing ocean liners to France. A horde of radio stars make their accustomed appearances. Mitchell Liesen directs this Paramount cast that includes Martha Raye, Dorothy Lamour, Shirley Ross, Ben Blue, Leif Erickson and Kirsten Flagstad. (amctv.com)
