This 17-minute Technicolor historical featurette focuses on Caesar Rodney of Delaware (Ted Osborne) -- soldier, judge, a delegate to the American Continental Congress, speaker of Delaware's Assembly, President (Governor) of Delaware, a justice of the state's Supreme Court -- who, suffering from serious facial cancer and afflicted with asthma, made the 80-mile ride from Sussex County to Philadelphia to cast the deciding vote so that the Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776. Directed by Crane Wilbur; no producer credited, but Harry M. Warner was producing the historical shorts at the studio during this time. (IMDb)
