Anna Neagle portrays the brave nurse who shuttles refugees and political prisoners out of Belgium via an underground railroad in WW I and was executed for her work. Released as an early propaganda film that critiqued contemporary German policies just as WW II was beginning to rage. A remake of director Herbert Wilcox's 1928 silent.
