Anna Neagle portrays the brave nurse who shuttles refugees and political prisoners out of Belgium via an underground railroad in WW I and was executed for her work. Released as an early propaganda film that critiqued contemporary German policies just as WW II was beginning to rage. A remake of director Herbert Wilcox's 1928 silent. This RKO cast includes Edna May Oliver, George Sanders, May Robson, ZaSu Pitts, Robert Coote and H.B. Warner. (amctv.com)
