The Rains Came

This exotic romantic Fox melodrama directed by Clarence Brown follows a bored, sensation-hungry aristocrat (Myrna Loy) who changes her life when she falls in love with a committed Indian doctor (Tyrone Power). Loy follows her husband to India, where she sheds her careless past to work side by side with Power helping the poor of Ranchipur after a flood causes a malaria outbreak. Their love comes to a tragic end as she succumbs to the disease. Supportng cast includes George Brent, Brenda Joyce, Nigel Bruce, Maria Ouspenskaya, Joseph Schildkraut, Mary Nash, Jane Darwell, Marjorie Rambeau, Henry Travers and H. B. Warner.
