Topper Takes a Trip

US (1938): Comedy

Constance Bennett tackles Roland Young's marital problems without the benefit of hubby Cary Grant in this follow-up to Topper (1937). When Billie Burke spots her husband (Young) with Bennett, she assumes he's having an affair and flies off to Paris. Bennett and her equally invisible dog (Mr. Atlas, "The Ectoplasmic Pup", who provides many of the laughs here) put things to right, and she joins Grant in the great beyond. Norman Z. McLeod directs again for Hal Roach Studios; released by UA. (amctv.com)
