Arise, My Love

US (1940): Romance/Drama/War/Comedy

In this Wilder-Brackett screenplay, Claudette Colbert plays a reporter who saves a man (Ray Milland) sentenced to death in a Spanish military prison in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War. After he is freed, they run off to Paris but the war clouds gather. They sail for America but encounter the war once more and find themselves washed back to Europe. Mitchell Liesen directs a Paramount cast that also includes Dennis O'Keefe, Walter Abel, George Zucco and Frank Puglia. (amctv.com)
