Dumbo

US (1941): Animated/Fantasy/Children's

In this classic animated Disney film, a baby circus elephant is cruelly mocked until he realizes that his enormous ears are a blessing in disguise: he can fly. Soon, Dumbo becomes the greatest show on earth. Walt Disney produced this film with atypical thrift. It remains one of the studio's shortest feature-length films (64 minutes) and, in contrast to their multi-million dollar efforts even at the time, cost less than $1 million. Direct by Ben Sharpsteen.
