US (1941): Comedy/Mystery

The third of the Topper movies finds Roland Young a detective after ghostly murder victim Joan Blondell asks him to intercede and save potential victim Carole Landis's life. Roy Del Ruth directs for MGM; cast also includes Billie Burke, Dennis O'Keefe, Eddie "Rochester" Anderson and George Zucco. Topper Returns would be the series' last ghostly outing on the big screen. A decade later, the characters would reappear on TV, with Leo G. Carroll taking over as the bewildered Cosmo. (amctv.com)
