Desperate Journey
US (1942): Drama/War
Five Allied airmen, including Errol Flynn and Ronald Reagan, shot down over the eastern front, fight their way back to England. Typical of morale-boosting genre, but interesting now for the curious starring duo. Raoul Walsh directs an MGM cast that also includes Nancy Coleman, Raymond Massey, Alan Hale, Arthur Kennedy, Ronald Sinclair, Albert Basserman and Sig Ruman.
The son of gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, William Hopper, appears in a small uncredited role as a radio operator in the film. He would later achieve greater fame as Paul Drake on the "Perry Mason" TV series. (amctv.com)
