And To Think I Saw It on Mulberry Street
US (1944): Animated/Children's/Short
George Pal directs another Dr. Seuss story. This Puppetoon begins and ends with live-action footage. You see a boy's feet walking home slowly from school. His father confronts him, and asks him what he saw during his walk. The boy tells him, "Just a horse and a wagon on Mulberry Street." The father does not like this, and tells the boy to look around, to see things on his walk. When the boy next walks down the street, he suddenly sees (in animation) all sorts of wonderful sights, colorful animals, a great parade and band, etc. But when he returns home and is once again asked what he saw during his walk, he again only says, "Just a horse and wagon on Mulberry Street."
