I Won't Play

US (1944): Drama/War/Short

On an unnamed Pacific island occupied by the U.S. Marines, Joe Fingers (Dane Clark) brags that he helped many people in show business advance their careers. He even claims that he helped George Gershwin write "Rhapsody In Blue." At this point, Joe's comrades start to disbelieve his stories. A short time later, a well known female singer (Janis Paige) (who is a pinup of one of the men) shows up and tells them that Joe "made her what she is today." Perhaps his stories are on the level after all. Then we find the real reason why Fingers "won't play." Directed by Crane Wilbur. (IMDb)
