Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon are together again in this lavish melodrama about a miner who becomes a millionaire and his ambitious wife. A vehicle designed for Garson and Pidgeon, attempting to repeat the success of Mrs. Miniver. Garson and Pidgeon appeared together in nine features between 1941 and 1953; this was the fifth. Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress: Agnes Moorehead. Tay Garnett directs for MGM.
