In a sturdy depiction of colorful Western character Bat Masterson (Albert Dekker), this depicts the time he spent as marshal of Dodge City, his battle with cattle baron Barry Sullivan, and his tragic romance with dance-hall girl Claire Trevor. Cast also includes Henry Hull, Marion Martin, Porter Hall and Percy Kilbride.

French-born director George Archainbaud (1890-1959), whose first film premiered in 1917, rounded out his career directing television in the 1950s with shows such as "The Texan," "Buffalo Bill Jr." and "Annie Oakley." (UA) (amctv.com)
