Can't Help Singing

US (1944): Musical/Western

With the California Gold Rush beginning, Senator Frost's (Ray Collins) singing daughter Caroline (Deanna Durbin) loves a young army officer (David Bruce); the Senator can't stand him, and has him sent to California. Headstrong Caroline follows him by train, riverboat, and covered wagon, gaining companions en route: a vagrant Russian prince (Akim Tamiroff) and gambler Johnny Lawlor (Robert Paige), who just might take her mind off the army.
