Lady on a Train
US (1945): Comedy/Mystery/Romance/Film-Noir
A winning Deanna Durbin vehicle that combines mystery and comedy with a little singing, of course. As a rich girl on her way to New York for the Christmas holidays, Deanna's just sure she saw a murder as her train passes. Not being able to convince anyone of her story, she locates a handsome mystery writer (David Bruce) for inspiration and sets out sleuthing. The trail leads to an eccentric family and a surprise ending. Great supporting cast including Ralph Bellamy, Edward Everett Horton, Dan Duryea and William Frawley. From a Leslie Charteris story. Charles David directs for Universal. (amctv.com)
