Vincente Minnelli directs this Technicolor musical romance from MGM. Manuela (Judy Garland) is engaged to Don Pedro Vargas (Walter Slezak), the local richman, but meanwhile she has dreams about the legendary pirate Macoco. A traveling singer (Gene Kelly) falls in love with her and to impress her he poses as the pirate. Gladys Cooper, Reginald Owen and George Zucco support the story, and The Nicholas Brothers supply their unforgettable dancing. (IMDb)
