In the time of the Crusades, a Saxon youth (Tyrone Power) is forced to run away from England. He goes with his loyal retainer (Jack Hawkins) who brings along a British long bow. The two go all the way to China where they become involved in intrigues in the court of Kubla Kahn (Orson Welles). Henry Hathaway directs a cast that also includes Cécile Aubry, Michael Rennie, Finlay Currie, Herbert Lom, Mary Clare, Robert (Bobby) Blake, Alfonso Bedoya and Laurence Harvey.
