King Solomon's Mines

US (1950): Adventure/Romance

Guide Allan Quartermain (Stewart Granger) helps a young lady (Deborah Kerr) find her lost husband somewhere in Africa. It's a spectacular adventure story with romance, because while they fight with wild animals and cannibals they fall in love. Directed by Compton Bennett and Andrew Marton; Helen Deutsch adapted her screenplay from the H. Rider Haggard novel. The book was first dramatized in 1937, then again in 1985. (MGM) (IMDb)
