US (1951): Documentary/Short

In this fictional tale, Benjy (Lee Aaker) is a crippled boy, whose mother does not want to accept his handicap; his father denies Benjy completely. A young physician believes in a therapy, but it takes him a long time to convince the parents. Made for the L.A. Orthopaedic Hospital, none of the crew accepted a fee. The film received the Oscar® for best short documentary feature, and donations to the hospital increased greatly. Narrated by Henry Fonda; directed by Fred Zinnemann.
