When the prisoner is later found murdered, the medic soon agrees to work for the Allies in hopes of ending the war that is destroying his country. He is dropped behind enemy lines, with orders to find a panzer division that supposedly wants to stop fighting, where he faces many perils, including a German spy. Anatole Litvak directs a cast that also includes Richard Basehart, Gary Merrill and Hildegard Knef. The film also features an early film appearance by legendary German actor Klaus Kinski in the role of a defector. This was his first English language film. (amctv.com)
