I Was a Communist for the F.B.I.
US (1951): Drama/Film-Noir
The FBI infiltrates one of their agents (Frank Lovejoy) into the American Communist Party. This causes big problems in the normal life of the agent. Nobody knows that he is with the FBI, including his family. (Luis Carvacho, IMDb)
This Warner Bros. feature, written by Crane Wilbur, directed by Gordon Douglas, and with a full production crew (including an uncredited score by Max Steiner), was nominated in the Feature Documentary category. It didn't win, but this lets us know how seriously mainstream Hollywood was taking the Red Scare of the 1950's.
