The Strip

US (1951): Drama/Film-Noir

If you like jazz, you'll like this one: a good part of this movie takes place in Los Angeles' night-clubs with guest star Louis Armstrong. The story may look classical for a film noir, but the way it shows how a drummer penetrates into the underground world is surprising. Written by Allen Rivkin and directed by László Kardos, the film features Mickey Rooney, Sally Forrest, William Demarest, James Craig and Kay Brown. (MGM) (François Gehl, (IMDb))
