US (1952): Animated/Short
This short from the UPA studio was based on the "Madeline" series of children's books that recently received a boost and have led to a feature-length live action movie as well as an animated series. This cartoon concerns the mischievous orphan girl and the wise nun who looks after her and her classmates. This short can be found on one of the Columbia Classics series of tapes released some years ago and is well worth watching. Directed by Robert "Bobe" Cannon. (Robert Reynolds, IMDb)
