Plymouth Adventure

US (1952): Drama/Adventure

The Mayflower saga serves as background for a romantic, historical adventure. Gruff Spencer Tracy shepherds the pilgrims across the tossing sea, and tries to start a romantic adventure with future governor William Bradford's wife (Gene Tierney). She resists, and he gains respect for the colonists, but not in time to save her from drowning in a violent storm. Clarence Brown directs a cast that also includes Van Johnson, Leo Genn, Dawn Addams and Lloyd Bridges. (MGM) (amctv.com)
