The Caddy

US (1953): Comedy

This Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis comedy features the boys as golfers Joe and Harvey, who team up to compete in a tournament. Harvey can't stand the tension involved in competition and becomes Joe's caddy and coach. But after a few victories, Joe's ego grows out of control, and he determines to dissolve their successful partnership. The two begin arguing and, eventually, cause hilarious chaos at a big tournament, which swiftly ends their careers as golfers and leads them to the world of entertainment instead. Features the song "That's Amore." In addition to The Caddy director Norman Taurog worked with Martin and Lewis on five other films: Jumping Jacks (1952), The Stooge (1953), Living it Up (1954), You're Never Too Young (1955) and Pardners (1956).
