Marjorie Morningstar
US (1958): Drama
While working as a counselor at a summer camp, teen-aged Marjorie Morgenstern (Natalie Wood) falls for Noel Airman (Gene Kelly), a second-rate composer working at a nearby summer theater. Their romance is hampered by several obstacles: Marjorie's parents (Claire Trevor and Everett Sloane) object to the age difference between the two, as well as the fact that Noel isn't Jewish and he has a lack of ambition. Marjorie encourages Noel to finish a musical he started writing several years ago, but its failure or success has the power to strengthen or ultimately destroy their relationship. Directed by Irving Rapper. Cast also features Martin Milner, Carolyn Jones, George Tobias, Martin Balsam, Jesse White, Edd Byrnes and Ruta Lee. (Beachwood/Warner Bros.) (Daniel Bubbeo, IMDb)
