The Sandman

This animation retells the traditional story of the sandman, but with decidedly sinister connotations. A little boy is sent upstairs to bed but is scared on his own. The sandman enters the house, climbs the stairs and tries to wake the now sleeping boy. He throws sand in his face. In the next sequence, the sandman feeds something to ghoulish birds. The little boy awakes, and in the final startling shot, has no eyes. (BFI.org)
