89 mm od Europy(89mm from Europe) Poland (1994): Documentary/Short
89 mm From Europe is the most famous production of Film Studio "Kalejdoskop", one of Poland's first independent studios, launched at the beginning of 1989. At Brest Litovsk, on the border between Poland and the former Soviet Union, the gauge of train tracks changes: to move beyond Belorussia, the tracks must be wider. Building upon this profound metaphor, the filmmaker probes the eyes of passengers on international trains as they witness the changing of the wheels under the train cars. (Direct Cinema Limited)
