Gangs of New York

US (2002): Drama

In mid-nineteenth century New York, gangs of Irish immigrants face off against bands of local anti-immigration citizens in a bloody turf war. Set against a backdrop of poverty and political corruption, the film tells the story of a young man (Leonardo DiCaprio) seeking revenge against the powerful gang leader who killed his father (Daniel Day-Lewis).
