When two teenage boys (Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal) spin a tale of a perfect beach to a beautiful older woman (Maribel Verdú) at a wedding, she unexpectedly asks them to take her there. The trio embark on a road trip through the poverty-stricken countryside, their emotional allegiances shifting as the boys search for a destination they believe to be a fantasy. Co-written by Alfonso and Carlos Cuarón; directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
