A young Inuit named Kenai (voiced by Joaquin Phoenix) kills a bear to avenge his brother's death and finds he has been magically transformed into a bear himself. As he becomes the object of a similar revenge quest by his remaining brother, Kenai must befriend a young cub in order to survive.
