A seemingly ordinary Long Island family is torn apart when the father and one son are charged with multiple counts of child molestation. Drawing on sources that include extensive home movie footage, the film traces the unraveling of the Friedmans' lives in the wake of the charges, as well as the often troubling nature of the police investigation.
