The emotional lives of two men and two women cross and recross in a complicated web of love, desire, anger and betrayal. Dan (Jude Law) is involved with the free-spirited Alice (Natalie Portman) when he meets Anna (Julia Roberts), a beautiful photographer. Although Anna subsequently marries another man, Larry (Clive Owen), the bond she and Dan have formed will eventually destroy both relationships. Directed by Mike Nichols.
