A graphic depiction of the last twelve hours in the life of Jesus Christ (James Caviezel), the film focuses on his trial by Pontius Pilate (Hristo Shopov) at the urging of the Pharisees and the high priest, Caiaphas (Mattia Sbragia), his flaying and beating by Roman soldiers, and his suffering and death by crucifixion. Dialogue spoken in Aramaic, Latin and Hebrew; directed by Mel Gibson.
