"All Quiet on the Western Front" (1930)
Born Udell Sylvester Andrews in St. Louis, Missouri. Writer and director who began in silent films with THE BRONZE BELL (1921). Other notable writing credits include THE RACKET (1928), ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT (1930, adaptation) and OUTLAW DEPUTY. He really didn't make a successful transition into talking pictures, and he died of a heart attack in Tonopah, Nevada, in 1942.
