Born in St. Louis, Missouri. Anne Bauchens is most notable as a pioneering film editor who worked almost exclusively for Cecil B. DeMille. In fact, she edited over 40 of DeMille's films over a period of almost 40 years ending with THE TEN COMMANDMENTS in 1956.
Some of her notable editing credits include CARMEN (1915), WE CAN'T HAVE EVERYTHING and THE SQUAW MAN (both 1918), FORBIDDEN FRUIT (1921), ADAM'S RIB and THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (both 1923), THE GOLDEN BED (1925), THE VOLGA BOATMAN (1926), THE KING OF KINGS and CHICAGO (both 1927), CRAIG'S WIFE (1928), DYNAMITE (1929), MADAM SATAN (1930), THE SIGN OF THE CROSS (1932), CLEOPATRA (1934), THE BUCCANEER (1938), UNION PACIFIC (1939), NORTH WEST MOUNTED POLICE (1940), REAP THE WILD WIND and COMMANDOS STRIKE AT DAWN (both 1942), THE STORY OF DR. WASSELL (1944), LOVE LETTERS (1945), UNCONQUERED (1947), SAMSON AND DELILAH (1949), THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH (1952) and THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (1956).
