Bernard W. Burton
(1898 - 1991)

Born in New York City. Film editor who entered American film at Universal with MELODY OF LOVE (1928). Other notable editing credits include SHOW BOAT (1936), ONE HUNDRED MEN AND A GIRL (1937), MIDNIGHT INTRUDER and THAT CERTAIN AGE (both 1938), FIRST LOVE and CHARLIE McCARTHY, DETECTIVE (both 1939), IT'S A DATE and SPRING PARADE (both 1940), TOO MANY BLONDES and IT STARTED WITH EVE (both 1941), THE STRANGE CASE OF DOCTOR RX (1942), JOE PALOOKA, CHAMP (1946), NEW ORLEANS (1947), MODELS, INC. (1952) and THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS (1953, also co-producer). He moved into editing for television series in 1957 until his retirement in 1965.

From 1942 until 1953, Burton was also an associate producer at Monogram, associated mainly with the "Joe Palooka" series (1946-1950).
