Born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Screenwriter who entered American film as a scenarist at Universal in 1913 (SHADOWS OF LIFE). He often collaborated on the story, scenario or adaptation of 80 films, but did not make the successful transition to talking pictures. His last recorded credit is THE THIRTEENTH CHAIR (1929, dialogue continuity) for Tod Browning at Metro.
