Dance director and choreographer who entered American film with MOONLIGHT AND PRETZELS (1933). Other notable (non-nominated) credits include FLIRTATION WALK (1934), SWEET ADELINE, SWEET MUSIC, "G" MEN, SHIPMATES FOREVER, STARS OVER BROADWAY and BROADWAY HOSTESS (all 1935), COLEEN, THE SINGING KID and SONS 'O GUNS (all 1936), SING ME A LOVE SONG, THE KID AND THE CHORUS GIRL and MELODY FOR TWO (all 1937), SWING YOUR LADY (1938), HONOLULU, THE WIZARD OF OZ and AT THE CIRCUS (all 1939), BROADWAY MELODY OF 1940 and TWO GIRLS ON BROADWAY (both 1940), SHIP AHOY and FOR ME AND MY GAL (both 1942), THREE CHEERS FOR THE GIRS and I DOOD IT (both 1943) and MUSICAL MOVIELAND (1944). Connolly directed a number of Vitaphone shorts between 1936 and 1944.
