After a couple of Hollywood pictures, most notably Robert Rossen's THE BRAVE BULLS (1951), Fred Zinnemann's HIGH NOON (1952) and uncredited work on FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (1953), Crosby began a 14-year collaboration with producer-director Roger Corman that produced such films as THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS (1954), THE BEAST WITH A MILLION EYES (1956), ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS and REFORM SCHOOL GIRL (both 1957), TEENAGE CAVE MAN and I, MOBSTER (both 1958), HOUSE OF USHER (1960), PIT AND THE PENDULUM (1961), THE PREMATURE BURIAL (1962), THE RAVEN (1963), THE COMEDY OF TERRORS and BIKINI BEACH (both 1964), BEACH BLANKET BINGO and HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI (both 1965), FIREBALL 500 (1966) and THE COOL ONES (1967). Through all this, Crosby still managed to work on some films with a little higher tone, such as OKLAHOMA! (1955) and THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA (1958).

Crosby's son with first wife Aliph Van Courtland Whitehead is rock 'n' roll performer David Crosby (b. 1941).
