Born in New Jersey, USA. Cinematographer who began in silent films with THE SOUL OF KURA SAN (1916) for Jesse Lasky. Other notable non-nominated credits include THE MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY (1937), VALLEY OF THE GIANTS (1938), HOLLYWOOD CAVALCADE (1939), WESTERN UNION and MOON OVER MIAMI (both 1941), SPANISH FIESTA (1942), THE DESPERADOES (1943) and A SONG TO REMEMBER (1945). Davey was associate director of photography for THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939) and additional cinematographer for DUEL IN THE SUN.
