Born in New York City. Writer (SHIPMATES, 1931; FLIRTATION WALK, 1934; I'LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS, 1951 (also producer); and "The Big Valley" (TV series - creator), 1965) and production executive who worked largely uncredited from 1935 until 1938. Notable producing credits include THE FIGHTING 69TH (1940, assoc. producer), A YANK IN THE R.A.F. (1941, assoc. producer), YOU WERE NEVER LOVLIER (1942), DESTROYER (1943), ONCE UPON A TIME (1944), A SONG TO REMEMBER (1945), WHITE HEAT (1949), THE WEST POINT STORY (1950), SPRINGFIELD RIFLE and THE JAZZ SINGER (both 1952) and ADAM'S WOMAN (1970). He executive produced in television from the mid-1950s ("The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp" and "The Adventures of Jim Bowie").
