Born Seymour Arnold Feuer in Brooklyn, NY. Music director/supervisor for 125 film from 1938 until 1947 at Republic Pictures, he also composed stock music and scores that were used in over 90 Republic films. Some notable non-nominated scores include WOMEN IN WAR and UNDER TEXAS SKIES (both 1940), THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL and TUXEDO JUNCTION (both 1941), SONS OF THE PIONEERS (1942) and CALENDAR GIRL (1947). As a producer, his credits include WHERE'S CHARLEY? (1952), CABARET (1972), PIAF (1974) and A CHORUS LINE (1985).
As a Broadway producer, Feuer began his career with 1948's Where's Charley? Along with his partner Ernest H. Martin, he went on to produce such long-running hits as Guys and Dolls (1950), Can-Can (1953), The Boy Friend (1954, which introduced Julie Andrews to American audiences), Silk Stockings (1955), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1961), and The Act (1977).
