Eleanore Griffin
(1904 - 1995)

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Story and screenwriter who came to Hollywood to adapt her McCall's Magazine story "When Love Is Young" to the screen (1937). Other credits (alone or in collaboration) include LOVE IN A BUNGALOW and THOROUGHBREDS DON'T CRY (both also 1937), BOYS TOWN (1938), ST. LOUIS BLUES, STREET OF MISSING MEN and ONLY ANGELS HAVE WINGS (uncredited) (all 1939), I WANTED WINGS and BLONDIE IN SOCIETY (both 1941), HI, BEAUTIFUL (1944), NOB HILL (1945), THE HARVEY GIRLS (1946), TENTH AVENUE ANGEL (1948), A MAN CALLED PETER and GOOD MORNING, MISS DOVE (both 1955), IMITATION OF LIFE and THIRD MAN ON THE MOUNTAIN (both 1959), BACK STREET (1961) and ONE MAN'S WAY (1964).
