The Sea Hawk (1940)
Born in Kelbasin, Poland. Prolific, distinguished art director, in the US from c. 1905. After some notable work in the silent era, Grot's career flowered in the 1930s. He designed films across a wide range of genres, notably for fellow European emigrés Michael Curtiz and William Dieterle.
